Contra Dance

This painting is a composite of several photographs I took over many years at contra dances throughout New England. I love the swirling skirts, the sometimes awkward/sometimes graceful movements of the participants, and the whole scene which becomes a blur of color in motion.  I hope i captured the exhilaration of the circular motion and the camaraderie of the dancers.
