Red, Red, Red

Every season one variety of plant seems to be the star. This past Fall the Japanese Maples presented some of the richest reds I’ve ever seen. I took several photographs while encircled by these brilliant red leaves. This painting seemed to capture the ephemerality of the experience, done in a slightly Asian style of brushwork.
